NEC Crystal Reports Standards Check

Functional Requirement

On 07/01/2013 via IM from Saravanan:
1. ICD100 Crystal report is scheduled for Four Regions Plantsas USA, EMEA, APAC and CA, MEXICO.
2. File format is set to *.CSV format and Destination is set to E-Mail.
3. All the reports are working fine in BOBI Enterprise server except USA Region Plants instance.
4. Report was failing with an SMTP error in Enterprise server.
5. In USA Region, we have 0110, 0116, 0117 and 9010 Plants.
6. Individual Plants are working perfectly, however if we schedule the report for all the USA Region Plants, it is throwing SMTP error.
7. After setting the recurring, first day instance is scheduled successfully and later failing daily.

On 07/02/2013 via IM from Saravanan:
1. Report is designed in US date format and the dates will show as MM/DD/YYYY.
2. For European Plants, need to show the date format as DD/MM/YYYY.

On 07/02/2013 via E-mail from Saravanan:
1. Date field values alignment is mismatching after exporting the report to *.CSV format.

On 07/05/2013 via IM from Saravanan:
1. Report error when we set the destination as File location.

On 07/09/2013 via IM from Saravanan:
1. NEC Client informed that, T001K SAP Table contains Plants and Region/Company code.
2. Informed that using T001K table, change the date format dynamically.
3. NEC raised a doubt that if the User inputs plants from different Regions together, then what will be the outcome.
4. NEC informed that if the user runs the report from USA then the date format will be as per US format and as well as India and Europe.
5. NEC enquired about a way to change the format based on BOBI User ID.
6. NEC informed that their requirement is to change the Date format dynamically based on User Regions.
7. NEC needs information regarding which one is the best option whether Date format parameter or BO User ID or based on Timezone.
8. NEC needs to add a date format parameter which will have date formats as input prompt values in Crystal Report.

Solution Summary

1. Need to schedule the report with single USA Region Plant value and set destination to E-Mail and format to *.CSV.
2. Need to schedule the report with all the USA Region Plant values and set destination to E-Mail and format to *.CSV.
3. Need to check the attachment size.
4. Need to schedule the report using other formats.
5. Need to schedule the report to other Destinations.
6. Need to check the file size limit on SMTP server.
7. Need to change the date format properties to show them dynamically based on Plant values.
8. Need to create formula to avoid date alignment after exporting the report to *.CSV format.
9. Need to add file system for Crystal Job server using CMC.
10. Need to check the values in T001K table using Crystal report.
11. We need to create formulas in Crystal Report to show the date format as per requirement.
12. If user inputs plants from different Regions, we need to check the possibility of BOBI User ID.
13. Need to check whether there is any way to change the date format using User region settings.
14. Need to create a Date Format parameter, which will have Date formats as input prompt values in Crystal report.

Solution Details

Solution for Requirement on 07/01/2013 via IM :
1. Need to schedule the report with single USA region Plant and set destination to E-Mail & file format to *.CSV.
2. Need to apply all the USA Region Plants parameter and schedule the report, set destination to E-Mail & file format to *.CSV.
3. Need to change the file format to PDF and set the destination to E-mail.
4. Need to change the destination to BI Inbox and set the file format to *.CSV.
5. Need to check the PDF file size and *.CSV file size.
6. Need to contact Infrastructure regarding the file size limitation on SMTP server for *.CSV files.

Solution for Requirement on 07/02/2013 via IM :
1. Need to apply the Date format logic at Crystal Report Designer level to show the Date format based on Plant values.
2. Need to apply Date format logic to change the date format form MM/DD/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY and vice-versa .

1. Need to create date format formulas in Crystal Report designer to show the date format based on Plant prompt values.

1. Need to add File system for Crystal Job server in CMC for development server.

Solution for Requirement on 07/09/2013 via IM :
1. Need to check the values in T001K table using Crystal report.
2. Need to create formulas in Crystal Report to show the date format as per requirement.
3. Need to check the users list in BOBI 4.0 production server.
4. Need to hard code all the specific region BO Users in Crystal Report.
5. Need to create formulas to show the specific date formats using User Time Zone function.
6. Need to create formulas to show the specific date formats using Print Time Zone function.
7. Need to check whether time zone associated with the BO user ID.
8. Need to create a Date Format parameter which will have Date formats as input prompt values in Crystal report.

Issues

1. Report placed in BOBI 4.0 development server in IT > BMS > Production folder. NEC need to move the report to Production environment.
2. Alternative Reference ticket is 7935.100.
